GEO for another Decade

Last week the global Group on Earth Observations held a 10 year plenary session at week its mandate was extended for another decade (see press release here).
After a slow start when, frankly, trying to define what is was was even more difficult than trying to find out what use it was, the organisation has found its feet as a global coordinator of public earth observation resources (with CEOS http://www.ceos.org/) and has quite a catalog of tools available for data discovery and collaboration (mostly though GEOSS), though many are difficult to track down (even with the correct web address) and few are easy to use. Though i still think agriculture is under served in the GEO make-up

Look here for a portal for accessing imagery used in some of the GEO services
