The Institute of Marine Sciences (http://www.icm.csic.es), which belongs to the Spanish

Research Council (CSIC), offers a postdoctoral position in satellite radar remote

sensing. The selected candidate will join a multidisciplinary team, with experts in

engineering, oceanography, remote sensing, and data assimilation. In particular, the

team has vast experience in satellite microwave remote sensing, including

scatterometry, altimetry, and L-band radiometry (http://cp34-bec.cmima.csic.es).

The selected candidate will work on the continuous development of scatterometer wind

data processors.

GUIDOS workshop

The Centre for Environmental Research Innovation and Sustainability, IT Sligo are pleased to announce details of a Guidos Toolbox Workshop to be held on 23rd and 24th November.  
Guidos Toolbox (Graphical User Interface for the Description of image Objects and their Shapes) is a free software developed by the Joint Research Centre that contains a wide variety of generic raster image processing routines, including related free software such as GDAL (to process geospatial data and to export them as raster image overlays in Google Earth), and FWTools (pre/post-process and visualize any raster or vector data).

The software developer Peter Vogt will give the 2-day workshop.There are only 25 places available. The €70 fee includes lunch and tea/coffee on both days.
